78. Greenberry Adamson was born on 29 October 1770 in Frederick Co., Maryland. He died () on 31 March 1831 at the age of 60 in Henry Co., Georgia. Greenberry ADAMSON, was named for a relative of the family to which Col. Nicholas GREENBERRY at one time Deputy Governor of MD belonged.

Soon after he moved to GA. In 1789 Greenberry ADAMSON met Sarah COATES, d/o Nathaniel COATES & Martha LAMAR COATES. He m. Sarah COATES 26 Dec 1793. Sarah COATES was b. 20 Feb 1774. She d. 9 Nov 1849. Her Father, Nathaniel COATES, was from a VA family that had emigrated to Wilkes Co., GA where Nathaniel COATES became High Sheriff. His wife, Martha LAMAR, belonged to the celebrated LAMAR family of GA.
The father of Nathaniel COATES was Henry COATES, at one time of Richmond, VA, who was m. to Sarah Young, whose father was a man of great wealth in SCT. It was that way that the surname Young came to be given in the ADAMSON family.

Greenberry Adamson and Sara Elizabeth Coates were married on 26 December 1793. Sara Elizabeth Coates was born on 20 February 1774. She was born on 20 February 1774 in Original Territory, Georgia. She died () on 8 November 1849 at the age of 75. Sara died () on 8 November 1849 at the age of 75 in Henry, Henry Co., Georgia.
