        WILL OF JAMES ADAMSON (1757-1837)
James Adamson

I, James Adamson of Fairfield Township, Columbiana County and State of Ohio being through ?? ???? favoring of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of this mortal life do hereby publish and make known this my last Will and Testament in manner following.
First, I hereby direct my Executors herein after named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses shortly after my decease may happen.
Second, I hereby give and bequesth to my beloved wife, Hannah Adamson the farm where I now live being the South East Quarter of Section Fourteen in Township Twelve of Range Two in Columbiana County aforesaid containing one hundred and Sixty acres be the same more or less, together with my personal property during her natural lifet to dispose of the chattle property at her pleasure and at here decease, I hereby give and devise the aforesaid Quarter Section of land to my son John Adamson , his heirs and assigns forever.
Third, I hold a note and ???? on my son-in-law John Hatcher for four hundred and fifty Eight dollars and fifty cents which I hereby give and bequeath to my Daughter Rebeca Hatcher.
Fourth, I hold an obligation on Nathan W. Clun of Stark County, secured by mortage for about $649.00 including Interest, out of which I hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Ester Woods five hundred dollars, the balance of said debt to be equally divided between her and my daugther Rebecca Hatcher.
Fifth, I hereby give and devise to Thomas Care (son of my brother Thomas) to him his heirs or assigns forever a lot of land in the North West corner of the South West quarter of Section thirteen and Township of aftersaid adjoining Thomas Adamson on the East and the road from Beaver Town to Columbiana on the South containing about four acres be the same more or less. the remainder of my land the aforementioned quarter section suspossed to be about fourteen acres more or less, I hereby direct to be to be sold at my wifes decease (if not sooner sold) and hereby direct my executors herein after named to make and execute a good and sufficient deed for the money arising from said sale to be equally divided between my two daughters, Rebecca Hatcher and Ester Woods.
Sixth, to the decease wife, I hereby direct that my chattle property be sold. The money arising and other moneys belonging tomy estate to be divided into five shares, one of which shares to be equally divided between James Hatcher and Hannah Woods children of my daughter Ruth Hatcher deceased, the other four share to be divided equally between my sons Thomas Adamson and John Adamson and Rebecca Hatcher and Ester Woods afforesaid,
Seventh, I hereby appoint my son, John Adamson and my ???????? Abner Heald my Executors in whom I confide to see that this my last Will is hereby executed In Testimony that the forgoing is my last will and Testament, I have hereinto set my hand and seal the first day of the seventh month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.

This will was ????? into court and Wm. Heald and S. Bak??, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, him
a qualified ???, that they saw the testor sign said will, that the attested and subscribed the same as witnesses
in presence of the testator, that the testor when he signed said will was of sound mind and memory, of full
age and not under any restraint; where ?????? said will is approved and ordered tothe recorded with the
proof now taken.
